du Bouis was born in Bramhill, Cheshire in 1959, his early years at school indicated his talent of art, problem solving and construction. It was only when he turned down work in Australia for A&F that he reconnected with his love for art. Whilst running a coffee shop his enthusiasm for painting signs and table tops sparked an internal energy to advance his techniques and style. This has led him to painting an extensive range of themes.
du Bouis paintings are influenced by the countryside, parks and his extensive travels around the world and his imagination seeking to emulate the beauty, du Bouis works are highly unusual, combining details with elements and textures bringing together his illustrations. The finished works are limited to the original, making them highly unusual and collectable pieces of art.
truly refreshing, truly emotive, creating a tangible sense of atmosphere.

My journey as an artist
My journey into painting was not a conscious decision, but a natural evolution. As a free spirit, I found myself living in a timeless zone, where the act of painting simply emerged. It felt like a natural process, driven by an innate ability to perceive details in nature that often go unnoticed by others. This unique perspective is what fuels my artistic expression and keeps me continuously inspired.

My unique painting style
Each painting I create is a one-off — a moment captured, never to be repeated. Rather than imitating nature, I aim to interpret its essence, translating it into something entirely my own. Through this approach, every piece becomes a unique exploration of form, colour, and emotion.

What makes my art special
What sets my work apart is my ability to see and translate the inherent beauty within nature’s diverse forms. It goes beyond simply painting what is visible — it’s about revealing the subtle details and hidden qualities that often pass unnoticed. This deep appreciation for nature lies at the heart of my work, offering each viewer a fresh and distinctive perspective.
